BREAKING NEWS : NEW COMMITTEE MEMBERS OF TAFI ( EAST) SELECTED TODAY, ANIL PUNJABI HANDS OVER CHARGE AFTER 25 YEARS, ALL SET TO PLAY A BIGGER ROLE AT NATIONAL LEVEL

KOLKATA , 29 AUGUST 2023:

New Committee members of Travel Agents Federation of India ( eastern India) took charge from today at the TAFI Meet 2023 organised at the Polo Floatel Hotel in Kolkata today. Mr. Anil Punjabi, who has acted as the chairman of TAFI ( East) for the past 25 years have handed over the charge today and is all set to play a bigger role at the national level very soon, sources said.

Mr. Bilolaksha Das,  Director of Citi Travels Kolkata has been selected as the new chairman of Travel Agents Federation of India (TAFI) , eastern India, Mr. Abhijeet Dhar, Director of Alps Tourists Services Private Limited has taken charge as the new secretary and Smt. Anita Gupta, Director of Yatri Travels Private Limited has taken over the charge as the new treasurer.

Speaking on the occasssion, Mr. Anil Punjabi, Director of Ar Es Travels and also the most prominent face of the tourism industry in media in the city of Joy since the past two decades said that he hopes that the new committee members will take the organisation to the next level.  They have been selected and not elected with tremendous work experiences in the field of travel and tourism sector, he added.

He said that the TAFI eastern India was born in the 1990s with only three or four members but today has over 40 members and most crucilally has become the voice of the travel and tourism sector in the eastern part of the country in the recent years.

“ Tafi has played a key role to boost the travel and tourism sector in Eastern India and particularly in West Bengal and hope that will continue to do so in the future too,”said Mr. Anil Punjabi.

Mr. Bilolaksha Das, new chairman stressed the need of more interactive ssessions amongst its members and said that more members will join in future if TAFI can provide many more and new facilities to the travel agents.

“ We have to provide the services to the end users which chatgpt can not provide so artificial intelligence can not take our job of providing the services to the customers,”he added.

Mr. Abhijeet Dhar said that in the coming days TAFI will oprganise many more events and undertake few more programmes.

Smt.B. Madhu, COO of 911i , a medical tourism service providing company has given a beautiful audio visual presentation on medical tourism particularly about the elderly people.

Mr. Saptarshi Bhattacharya, Director of Parjatak Guru, Mr. Nirjan Nandy, media, real estate, healthcare, tourism, fmcg and home loans consultant, and runs Kolkatatours, Parjatakguru tours, Mr. Biswajit Chowdhury, Speedbird Travels, Mr. Jayanta Bhattacharya, Air India, Chiranjit Mitra, Sohan Mukherjee,  and Tamoghna Bhattacharyya  of Vistara, Arindam Chakraborty, Fly Dubai, Raza Habib, Fly Dubai, Sayani Ghosh of Thai Smile, Prasenjit Basu, Air Arabia, Miss. Shamaila of Sri Lanka Airlines, Rupanwita Das , marketing executive of Citi Travels was also present etc were also present.
