The 6th Rajasthan Domestic Travel Mart (RDTM) is set to open on Thursday at the iconic Ganesh Pol in Amer Fort, aiming to showcase the vast diversity of the state’s tourism and hospitality sector to a pan-India audience.

The mega event will be jointly inaugurated by Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma and Union Minister for Tourism and Culture Gajendra Singh Shekhawat during a grand opening ceremony. Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari, who also holds the tourism portfolio, Chief Secretary V Srinivas, and several other dignitaries are scheduled to grace the occasion, according to Federation of Hospitality and Tourism of Rajasthan (FHTR) President Surendra Singh Shahpura.

The inauguration will be marked by a traditional cultural performance at Jaleb Chowk within the historic fort premises.

Organised by the FHTR in collaboration with the Rajasthan Tourism Department, the three-day RDTM 2026 will center around the theme ‘Stories, Journey, Smiles’, announced Tourism Secretary Suchi Tyagi.

The mart has garnered widespread institutional backing from premier hospitality bodies, including the Hotel and Restaurant Association of Rajasthan (HRAR), Rajasthan Association of Tour Operators (RATO), and the Indian Heritage Hotels Association (IHHA). Prominent national tourism bodies like the IATO and ADTOI are also supporting the event.

In a significant boost to infrastructure synergy, the CREDAI Tourism Wing is also participating this year as part of its ongoing initiative to drive tourism development in the region, Ms. Tyagi added.

The Federation of Hospitality and Tourism of Rajasthan (FHTR), in collaboration with the State Tourism Department, is all set to host the two-day Rajasthan Domestic Travel Mart (RDTM) to showcase the state’s diverse tourism potential and unlock new business opportunities.

The mega exhibition will be officially inaugurated with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 10:00 AM on Friday at the B.M. Birla Convention Centre in Jaipur.

Expanding Beyond Traditional Tourism:

This year’s edition of the travel mart aims to shift focus toward immersive and niche travel experiences. According to the State Tourism Secretary, the RDTM will actively market Rajasthan’s multi-faceted tourism sector, including:

  • Cultural & Heritage Tourism
  • Wildlife & Adventure
  • Wellness & Spiritual Tourism
  • Rural & Experiential Travel

By partnering closely with private-sector stakeholders, the department intends to design high-quality, deeply engaging itineraries for domestic travellers.

Focus on Festivals, Polo, and Offbeat Gems

FHTR President Surendra Singh Shahpura highlighted that the federation’s vision goes beyond just organizing trade marts. The body continues to play a critical role in shaping tourism policy frameworks alongside the state government.

“This year, through RDTM, special focus will be placed on promoting not only traditional tourist destinations but also the state’s vibrant fairs and festivals, Rajasthan’s rich polo heritage, and lesser-known destinations among travellers from across the country,”  Surendra Singh Shahpura said.

The two-day event is expected to draw major industry stakeholders, tour operators, and hospitality leaders from across India, creating a robust platform for networking and driving future tourism growth in the state.

The Rajasthan Domestic Travel Mart (RDTM) 2026 is set to significantly scale up its operations this year, introducing dedicated networking booths to host over 21,000 scheduled business-to-business (B2B) meetings.

The upcoming event will feature massive domestic participation, bringing together around 300 travel agents from across India alongside more than 700 properties and tour operators native to Rajasthan. These structured interactions aim to pitch the state’s premier tourist destinations, hospitality services, and niche experiential tourism packages directly to leading national buyers.

In a strategic expansion, RDTM 2026 is also integrating the events and wedding industry into its official platform for the first time. The addition is designed to showcase Rajasthan’s lesser-known art, culture, heritage, and regional cuisine to both domestic and international audiences, positioning the state as a premier destination wedding and cultural hub.

The upcoming travel mart will spotlight responsible tourism by launching initiatives to restore historic stepwells and preserve the cultural identity of the ‘Kamaicha’—a traditional string instrument central to the Manganiyar community.

Highlighting the event’s entertainment lineup, a highly anticipated night polo exhibition match will take center stage at the Rajasthan Polo Club Ground on September 18 at 7:00 PM. The FHTR Cup Polo Exhibition Match, sponsored by CREDAI Tourism Wing members Ravi Surya and the Mangalam Group, will feature two teams competing before an audience of hosted buyers and invited dignitaries. Organisers aim to position night polo as a premier tourism attraction for travel and hospitality stakeholders.

The event concludes on September 19, with business-to-business (B2B) meetings continuing through the final day. According to event official Shahpura, the exhibition will also open its doors to the general public starting at 2:00 PM.
