Chennai to Addis Ababa, thrice a week direct flight services commences by Ethiopian Airlines

Africa’s leading airliner, Ethiopian Airlines commences from Chennai to Addis Ababa direct flight services thrice a week.

The southern metro city has joined in the list of Mumbai, New Delhi, and Benagluru as the fourth destination of operations of international flight services by Ethiopian Airlines.

In 1966, the first flight services of Ethiopian Airlines started in India from New Delhi.

“ Currently Ethiopian Airlines have been operating 38 weekly cargo/ passenger flights both incoming and outgoing from India. But after the outbreak of the covid -19 outbreak this is our first addition of a new destination in India,”says CCO, Lemma Yadecha Gudeta.

The airline also plans to increase the frequency of its flights from Mumbai and New Delhi, company sources said.

Ethiopian Airlines, formerly Ethiopian Air Lines is the flag carrier of Ethiopia and is wholly owned by the government.

Its headquarters are located in Addis Ababa Bole International Airport. Tourists and passengers of Chennai are elated with the commencement of direct flight services to Africa,

The fastest growing airline of Africa and also a star alliance member drafted a Vision 2025 expansion plan and has targeted the capital city of Tamil Nadu for Visiting Friends and Relatives (VFR) category,
business traffic for the investors in factories of Ethiopia, students and cargo sector and medical tourism. Addis Ababa, Ethiopia’s sprawling capital  city in the highlands bordering the Great Rift Valley, is also  the country’s commercial and cultural hub.
