e-Bird is an International Organisation which keeps track of the number and variation of the bird World Wide. It comes in web platform, as well as in App version. The birders around the world use to keep the number and variety of birds, he/she finds during a field work, through this app and which will be accessed by any birder of the world. It gives an authentic and pinpoint source of location of any bird, as well as, the distribution and Conservation status of a particular bird species.
Talking to www.thetravelandtourismtimes.com, Mr. Saptarshi Mukherjee of Wild Tuskers, a bird loving organization of Asansol said that every year, e-Bird, the world’s largest birding community organises two mega event worldwide viz. Great Backyard Bird Count and Campus Bird Count.

It actually keeps track of Summer Migrants of West Bengal like Indian Pitta, Indian Paradise Flycatcher, Jacobin Cuckoo etc.
Most of these birds are not such rare but are uncommon and are the summer migrant avian species to India.
The event will be organised at Biharinath Hills in Bankura district.
These birds prefer the plateau jungles like Bolpur, Biharinath, Ajodhya, Asansol, Susunia, Sutan, Kankrajhor, Belpahari, Jhilimili etc for their breeding ground
They are also seen in Dooars, Malda, Murshidabad and in Kolkata.. But their favorite place is Plateau

About eBird:
eBird began with a simple idea—that every birdwatcher has unique knowledge and experience. Our goal is to gather this information in the form of checklists of birds, archive it, and freely share it to power new data-driven approaches to science, conservation and education. At the same time, we develop tools that make birding more rewarding. From being able to manage lists, photos and audio recordings, to seeing real-time maps of species distribution, to alerts that let you know when species have been seen, we strive to provide the most current and useful information to the birding community.
eBird is among the world’s largest biodiversity-related science projects, with more than 100 million bird sightings contributed annually by eBirders around the world and an average participation growth rate of approximately 20% year over year. A collaborative enterprise with hundreds of partner organizations, thousands of regional experts, and hundreds of thousands of users, eBird is managed by the Cornell Lab of Ornithology.
