On the auspicious occassion of Buddha Purnima tomorrow, the Association of Buddhist Tour Operators (ABTO), West Bengal Chapter has organized a special programmee to celebrate the sacred heritage.
Members of Association of Buddhist Tour Operators (ABTO) , West Bengal Chapter will gather at the premises of the Maha Bodhi Society of India, located at 4A, Bamkim Chatterjee Street, College Square, Kolkata -73 at 10 AM. There will be a prayer session dedicated to Lord Buddha.
Mr. Bidyut Mitra, Head of West Bengal Chapter of Association of Buddhist Tour Operators (ABTO) has invited the members to register their names for tomorrow’s programmee.
The Maha Bodhi Society is a South Asian Buddhist society presently based in Kolkata, India. Founded by the Sri Lankan Buddhist leader Anagarika Dharmapala and the British journalist and poet Sir Edwin Arnold, its first office was in Bodh Gaya. The organization’s efforts began in order to resuscitate Buddhism in India, and to restore the ancient Buddhist shrines at Bodh Gaya, Sarnath and Kushinara. The restoration and revival of the glory and sanctity of Bodh Gaya are also aims of Maha Bodhi Society.
