Ministry of Tourism, Government of India,Bhubaneswar Office successfully organized a Heritage Temple Tour on 18.12.2025 in Bhubaneswar for tourism stakeholders. Conducted under the banner “Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat”, the event was designed to deepen the understanding of Odisha’s Kalingan architectural heritage and foster cultural synergy among industry professionals.

The tour commenced from the Mukteswar temples “Gem of Odishan Architecture,” the group focused on the famous Torana (arched gateway) and the transition toward the mature phase of temple building. The fine carvings of female figures and floral patterns were highlighted as key selling points for heritage tourism.

The tour culminated at the majestic Lingaraj Temple, the pinnacle of Kalinga architecture. Stakeholders observed the four-part structure:
- Vimana (Sanctum)
- Jagamohana (Assembly hall)
- Natamandira (Festival hall)
- Bhoga-mandapa (Hall of offerings)

The objective of HeritageTemple Tour:
- Stakeholder Sensitization: By walking the heritage trail, stakeholders gained first-hand insights into the historical narratives required to offer high-quality guided experiences.
- EBSB Integration: In line with the Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat vision, the tour emphasized the “Unity in Diversity” of Indian temple architecture.
- Sustainable Tourism: Discussions were held on the preservation of heritage sites in Odisha.
