DURGAPUR, 9 JUNE 2023:
South Bengal’s biggest ever Mango Festival begins in DSMS Group of Instituitions in Durgapur today. Smt. Anindita Mukherjee, chairperson of board of administrations of Durgapur Muncipal Corporation inaugurated the Mango Festival 2023 at the DSMS College premises in Durgapur.
Smt. Siuli Mukherjee, director of DSMS and other diginitaries were also present during the opening ceremony.
More than 100 varities of mangoes are the star attraction of the mango festival. It includes mangoes from the orchard of Nawab Siraj Ul Dullah.
Entry is free and the three day event will end on 11 June. From 11 AM to 8 PM the festival will remain open.
Mr. Anupriya Mukherjee, the event manager of this mango festival said that there are more than 3000 varities of mangoes in the world and out which 100 varities will be avaialble in the three day festival.
Mangoes from Murshidsabad, Malda and even from Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra are availabe.
Not only the ripe fruits but several recipes like ice cream, juice, lassi, mango shakes, and various chicken items with mangoes are also avaible in this festival.
“ The three day mango festival started today and on the inaugural day many mango lovers have visited the stalls today and we expect that more people will come in the next two days. There has been a lot of enthusisam and a person has bought 23 varities of mango today,”said Smt. Siuli Mukherjee.
The DSMS Group in Durgapur is famous for hotel managements and other courses since the past 33 years.
