The Directorate of Tourism of Maharashtra will hold a raodshow in the Hotel Kenilworth in the City of Joy on 13 th July 2203 to promote tourism in the state.
Maharashtra along with Tamil Nadu had already registered the highest number of foreign tourist footfall amongst all the states in India last year.
Maharashtra has a huge heritage of ancient, cultural and natural tourism. To further boost the tourism in the state, several new projects and initiatives are undertaken in recent times by the Directorate of Tourism, both at the national and international level. The state has many tourist destinations like beaches, palaces, caves, wildlives etc. Information about all these tourist places should be made available to tourists from the country as well as abroad so that they can visit and enjoy these places. Information pertaining to this will be given through various means during the roadshow. It was a part of this exercise to organize a road show in Kolkata.
According to Dr.B.N.Patil, Director, Directorate of Tourism of Maharashtra the roadshow will include business sessions between the stakeholders hete and the tourism trade members of Maharasthra that will surely open new avenues to the tourism business networking.
Maharashtra located in the western part of India is known for its diverse attractions ranging from ancient temples, UNESCO World Heritage Monuments, beaches, hill stations, wildlife sanctuaries and more. The economic capital of the country Mumbai with its bustling tinsel town, has further added to the allure of Maharashtra as major tourist attraction in India. All the major travel agents of Kolkata are expected to take part in the roadshow which will have a B2B meeting. Mr. Anil Punjabi, Chairman ( East), Travel Agents Federation of India (TAFI), Mr. Manav Soni, Chairman ( East) of Travel Agents Association of India (TAAI), Mr. Amin Ashgar, President ( East) of Skal International etc welcomed the Maharsathra Tourism Department for organising the Mega Roadshow in Kolkata on Thursday evening.
