FIRST STEP TOWARDS INDIA’S BLUE REVOLUTION: COUNTRY’S FIRST INTEGRATED AQUA PARK HAS BEEN SANCTIONED AT ARUNACHAL PRADESH ANNOUNCES CM

India’s first Integrated Aqua Park (IAP) under the Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana will be set up at Tarin ( Ziro) under Lower Subansiri District of Arunachal Pradesh at a cost of Rs.100 crores.

About three years ago, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced setting up of one integrated aqua park at each state and union territory under the Pradhan Mantri matsya Sampada Yojana which will usher in the blue revolution in India.

“ It was a dream of our PM Narendra Modi and I am happy to share that the country’s first Integrated Aqua Park has been sanctioned by the union ministry of fisheries in Arunachal Pradesh,”tweets chief minister Prema Khandu.

In the first installment the centre has allocated Rs.45.11 crores.

To further boost tourism the Arunachal Pradesh  government is going to set up the first ever fish museum in the North Eastern region of the country.

The fisheries minister of Arunachal Pradesh, Tage Taki has said that the proposed Fish Museum will be set up under the upcoming  Integrated Aqua Park located at the existing Tarin Fish Farm (TFF) in high altitude Bulla Village in Arunachal Pradesh. TFF will undergo massive expansion.

Fisheries minister Tage Taki further informed that he along with a high level delegation team from Arunachal Pradesh has visited the iconic office building of National Fisheries Development Board (NFDV) headquarters at Hyderabad twice with the project proposal and hold meetings.

The proposed museum will have all types of fishes in Arunachal Pradesh and will also train the fishermen of the state. These projects will change the socio economic scenario of the state and will also boost the eco tourism in the state.

ABOUT TARIN FISH FARM:

Tarin Fish Farm is a beautiful fish rearing farm, located near Hapoli. Fishes of high altitude are bred here whose fingerlings are sold during paddy cultivation season. The paddy cum fish cultivation procedure is one of the major attractions of Ziro, as this is rare and not seen and practiced a lot.
The Apatani tribes of Arunachal utilize the land to its best, where rice-fish culture in the valley is done.
During the breeding the traditional Paddy Fish cultivation method is practiced and two crops of rice ( Mipya and Emoh) and  and one crop of fish (Ngihi) are cultivated together. The farm is located on a high altitude and is surrounded by pine and bamboo groves.

The area is famous for kiwi fruit cultivations.

Covering an area of 7.4 hectares, the farm was established in 1985-86 under the NEC in 1985-86.

HOW TO VISIT-

Tarin Fish Farm is approximately 3.5 kilometers from Hapoli, and approachable only by trekking.

NEARBY TOURIST ATTRACTIONS-

Make a point to see the the crops of rice (Mipya and Emoh) and one crop of fish (Ngihi) are raised together. Visit the Hapoli town to see the beautiful view of the neighbouring hills. Meghna Cave temple, Talley Valley wildlife sanctuary, Kile Pakho, Midey.

Best time to visit-

Spring season (February and March) will be the best time to plan a visit to the Tarin Fish Farm.
