The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has launched four days or 96 hours free transit visa for stopover for tourism and pilgrimage purposes.
With this free transit Visa tourists can perform Umrah, visit the Prophet’s mosque and attend other tourism events in Saudi Arabia.
From 30th January 2023 it has come into effect. The Visa will be valid for upto three months.
“The new Stopover Visa is yet another proof point in Saudi’s commitment to developing and encouraging growth in the tourism sector. It is open for travelers passing through Saudi on our national carriers whether for leisure, business or Umrah. We will continue to work together across government and the tourism ecosystem as Saudi transforms into a leading global tourism destination,” informed Ahmed Al Khateeb, Minister of Tourism of Saudi Arabia, and Chairman of the Board of Saudi Tourism Authority.
The digital transit Visa for four days stop over to Saudi Arabia will be available to passengers through the national carriers, Saudia and Flynas.
After the request is processed during the ticket purchase it will be automatically approved and emailed to the air passengers of Saudia and Flynas.
Saudia Arabia has planned a Vision 2030 Policy to boost tourism.
According to World Tourism Organisation (WTO), Saudi Arabia has topped the G20 Countries in the rate of international tourist arrivals in the year 2022.
