State owned airlines of Italy, ITA Airways has announced commencing direct flight services from Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi (DEL) to Rome Fiumicino Airport (FCO) from 3 December this year.
There will be three weekly flight services initially on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday and Airbus A330 -200 will operate.
It will have a seating capacity of 256 passengers including 219 in economy, 17 in premium economy, and 20 in business class.
From November this year two more routes will open from Rome Fiumicino Airport to Tokyo in Japan and from December to Male, Maldives.
These flights will further boost the international connections of ITA Airways and will enable passengers to board connecting flights.
Particularly ITA Airways will connect the India – Germany, India – Spain,India – France, India – North America ( and vice versa) routes.
ITAs inter continental network now includes Buenos Aires, Sao Paulo, New York, Boston, Miami and Los Angeles besides the upcoming flight services from New Delhi.
