Underlining its 108-year-old journey, Maheshwari Pustakalaya of Kolkata organized a Kavi Pranam program on Tuesday evening under the Shatdal Arpan program series. Mr. Banshidhar Sharma, well known columnist of the metropolis presided over the programeee organised in honour of Treasurer of Rajasthani Language literature and culture academy , Bikaner and noted storyteller and poet Rajendra Joshi.
Assistant Director of Information and Public Relations Department, Rajasthan Information Center, Kolkata, Mr. Hinglaj Dan Ratnoo welcomed the gathering and mentioned the strong roots of the Rajasthani language here.
Respected writer, Rajendra Joshi called upon the constitutional recognition of Rajasthani language as the need of the day, that big steps should be taken in this direction from Kolkata, the cultural hub of the country. He also gave a call to look towards his roots. On this occasion, he recited his Hindi and Rajasthani poems. Social worker Mukund Rathi presented Joshi with the armband of Shatdal Arpan and Suresh Binnani presented memento.
Poet-writer, Banshidhar Sharma presided over the function. Keeping the statement, highlighting the characteristics of the mother tongue, recited his selected works. Chairman of Maheshwari Sabha, Bulakidas Mimmani proposed vote of thanks. Sanjay Binnani, library secretary , conducted the programmee.
