PM FLAGS OFF CHENNAI- COIMBATORE VANDE BHARAT EXPRESS , TRAVEL TIME REDUCED BY ONE & HALF HOURS ,  TO FURTHER BOOST TOURISM

KOLKATA, 8 APRIL 2023:

The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi flagged off the Chennai-Coimbatore Vande Bharat Express at MGR Chennai Central Railway Station in Chennai, Tamil Nadu today. Upon arriving at the venue, the Prime Minister inspected the Chennai-Coimbatore Vande Bharat Express and also interacted with children as well as with the train’s crew.  This is the second Vande Bharat Express train of Tamil Nadu.

The Prime Minister tweeted:

“The wonderful cities of Chennai and Coimbatore have even better connectivity thanks to the Vande Bharat Express. Flagged off the train and also met young friends on the occasion.”

It will take six hours to travel and will cut short the time by one and half hour. The 12 th Vande Bharat Express train of the country will be able to carry 530 passengers.

The cost of executive class  is Rs.3000 and that of chair car is Rs.2000.

The 12 the Vande Bharart Express Train train is scheduled to depart from Coimbatore Railway Station at 6 am and reach Chennai Central at 12.10 pm and on its  return back , the train is scheduled to depart from Chennai Central Railway Station at 2.20 pm and will reach Coimbatore at 8.30 pm.

The Prime Minister was accompanied by the Governor of Tamil Nadu, Mr. R N Ravi, the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Mr. M K Stalin and the Union Minister for Railways, Mr. Ashwini Vaishnaw.
