RAILWAY : RAILWAY TO RUN SPECIAL TRAINS BETWEEN SEALDAH & LUCKNOW AND KOLKATA & JAMMU TAWI DURING FESTIVE SEASON

KOLKATA, 4 SEPTEMBER 2024:

To accommodate the increased travel demand during ensuing Puja, Diwali and Chhath, Railway has decided to run the service of special trains between Sealdah & Lucknow and Kolkata & Jammu Tawi. The running of 03107/03108 Sealdah – Lucknow – Sealdah and  04681/04682 Kolkata – Jammu Tawi – Kolkata will provide passengers more convenient and comfortable travel options. This initiative aims to ease the challenges of securing train tickets during peak travel periods ensuring a smoother and more enjoyable journey for all.

03107 Sealdah – Lucknow Special will leave Sealdah at 00:10 hrs. on every Saturday between 05.10.2024 & 30.11.2024 (09 trips) to reach Lucknow at 00:10 hrs. on the next day and 03108 Lucknow-Sealdah Special will leave Lucknow at 01:40 hrs. on every Sunday between 06.10.2024 & 01.12.2024 (09 trips) to reach Sealdah at 23:50 hrs. on the Same day. The train will stop at Durgapur, Asansol, Chittaranjan, Madhupur and Jasidih stations in both directions enroute in Asansol Division of Eastern Railway. The train will have air-conditioned accommodations.

04682 Jammu Tawi- Kolkata Special will leave Jammu Tawi at 23:20 hrs. on every Tuesday between 08.10.2024 & 12.11.2024 (06 trips) to reach Kolkata at 13:00 hrs. On the third day and 04681 Kolkata – Jammu Tawi Special will leave Kolkata at 23:40 hrs. on every Thursday between 10.10.2024 & 14.11.2024 (06 trips) to reach Jammu Tawi at 12:30 hrs. on the third day. The train will stop at Asansol and Durgapur stations in both directions enroute in Asansol Division of Eastern Railway. The train will have air-conditioned accommodations.

RUNNING OF TWO PAIRS OF PUJA SPECIAL :

Running special trains ensuing Puja holds significant benefits. The special trains cater to increased travel demand, offering more convenient and efficient transportation options for people wanting to celebrate. They held reduce congestion on regular trains, ensuring smoother travel experience. Additionally, these initiatives promote tourism, boost local economy and contribute to a sense of national unity and celebration during occasion like Puja, Diwali and Chhath.  Keeping in the view   to clear extra rush of passengers, Railway has decided to run two pairs special train between Howrah-Patna-Howrah and Patna-Puri-Patna.

02023 Howrah – Patna Special will leave Howrah at 14:15 hrs. On every Sunday between 06.10.2024 & 29.12.2024 (13 trips) to reach Patna at 22:30 hrs. On the same day and 02024 Patna- Howrah Special will leave Patna at 05:30 hrs. On every Sunday between 06.10.2024 & 29.12.2024 (13 trips) to reach Howrah at 13:25 hrs. On the same day. The train will stop at Jasidih, Madhupur, Jamtara, Chittaranjan, Asansol and Durgapur stations in both directions enroute over Asansol Division. The train will have General second class and AC Chair Car accommodations.

03230 Patna-Puri Special will leave Patna at 08:45 hrs. On every Thursday between 03.10.2024 & 26.12.2024(13 trips) to reach Puri at 02:55 On the Next day and 03229 Puri-Patna Special will leave Puri at 14:55 hrs. On every Friday between 04.10.2024 & 27.12.2024 (13 trips) to reach Patna at 09:35 On the Next day. The train will stop at Jasidih, Madhupur, Chittaranjan, and Asansol stations in both directions enroute over Asansol Division. The train will have General second class, Sleeper Class and Air- Conditioned accommodations.
