In anticipation of the large influx of pilgrims for the upcoming Maha Shivratri festival on 26 February 2025 , Indian Railways has made special arrangements at Varanasi Railway Station to ensure a smooth and comfortable experience for all travelers.
To facilitate passengers on both incoming and outgoing trains, the following arrangements have been made:
Dedicated Ticket Counters & Mobile UTS Ticketing System: Additional ticket counters have been set up to manage the increased footfall, along with a mobile UTS ticketing system for convenient and quick bookings.
Separate Entry & Exit Points: To streamline passenger movement and avoid congestion, separate entry and exit points have been designated.
Enquiry and Assistance Booths: Information and help desks are placed at multiple points to guide passengers regarding train schedules, platform details, and general assistance.
Water Booths: Drinking water booths have been installed at key locations for the convenience of travelers.
First Aid Booths: Medical assistance booths have been set up at the station to provide immediate medical aid to passengers in need.
Fast-Track Facilities for Devotees: Special arrangements have been made for fasting devotees, including dedicated seating areas and a fast-track access system for quick movement.
Security Arrangements by RPF: The Railway Protection Force (RPF) has deployed additional personnel to assist passengers and ensure security across the station premises.
Big Temporary Holding Area: A large temporary holding area has been set up to accommodate the influx of travelers and provide them with necessary facilities.
Special Tourist Assistance: Dedicated counters for tourists have been arranged to help with travel and accommodation queries.
Indian Railways remains committed to ensuring a safe, comfortable, and efficient journey for all passengers during this sacred festival.
