KOLKATA, 15 APRIL 2023:
The Indian Embassy has issued advisory to Indians staying at present in Sudan to ‘Stay Indoors’ after the unrest in the country. All flights to Sudan’s Khartoum International Airport have been cancelled.
The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) or the para millitary and the millitary forces are locked in horns against each other and heavy gunfire and blasts have been heard at Sudan’s capital city at Khartoum.
The para millitary forces claim that they have taken control over the Presidential Palace in Khartoum.
The shootings and the blasts are taking place near the Sudan Army headquarters and the airport in Khartoum.
Already Fly Dubai has cancelled all its international flight operations from Dubai to Khartoum from 15 April to 17 April.
“NOTICE TO ALL INDIANS IN VIEW OF REPORTED FIRINGS AND CLASHES, ALL INDIANS ARE ADVISED TO TAKE UTMOST PRECAUTIONS, STAY INDOORS AND STOP VENTURING OUTSIDE WITH IMMEDIATE EFFECT. PLEASE ALSO STAY CALM AND WAIT FOR UPDATES,” tweets Indian Embassy at Khartoum in Sudan.
“Thirteen Indians are staying at Hotel Kanon, 15 Street Khartoum and have urged them to bring back to India,” said one of them Surendra Yadav in a tweet.
Many Indians are also stranded at Khartoum airport, tweeted Sushil Shanbag. Meenakshi Agrawal has urged to evacute the Indian Businessman staying in hotels at Khartoum now.
Maheen. S has tweeted full of gunshots heard from the hotel. She is travelling in Sudan for the past three and half months for business.
