The state government has achieved a significant milestone in empowering the youth of Chhattisgarh. Acting on the vision of the Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai, the Chhattisgarh Tourism Board organized a special training program for youths in the tourism sector after a gap of seven years. During the Bastar Conclave, the Chief Minister had clearly stated, “Bastar’s youth will be connected to tourism and offered new employment opportunities.” Keeping this vision at the center, the training program was conducted at IITTM Gwalior.
A total of 45 youths successfully completed the guide training program, out of which nearly 80% were from the Bastar region. Conducted between 3 November and 2 December 2025, this intensive one-month program provided participants with skills in tourist guidance, communication, cultural heritage, tourism management, and practical field experience. This training equips them to effectively showcase Chhattisgarh’s natural beauty and cultural legacy.
At the concluding ceremony, certificates were distributed by IITTM Director Dr. Alok Sharma, professors, and officials from the Tourism Board. They appreciated the Chief Minister’s visionary decision, which has opened new opportunities for youth in the tourism sector.
Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai congratulated all the trained guides and wished them a bright future. He said that this training will not only generate employment and self-employment opportunities for youth, but also help strengthen Chhattisgarh’s positive identity at the national and global levels. Due to his people-centric approach and special sensitivity towards Bastar, this program has become a strong step towards youth empowerment and the development of tourism in the state.
Thanks to the Chief Minister’s initiative, the trained guides will now be able to better promote Chhattisgarh’s cultural and natural tourist destinations. This will significantly contribute to taking the tourism industry to new heights and establishing the state on the global tourism map.
