The five-day Sambhar Festival was ceremoniously inaugurated on Saturday (from 27 December to 31 December 2025) at Jhapok under the joint auspices of the Rajasthan Tourism Department, Jaipur District Administration, and Sambhar Municipal Council. The event was inaugurated by the Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister and Tourism Minister Diya Kumari as the Chief Guest, in the presence of former विधायक (MLA) Nirmal Kumawat, Additional District Collector Jaipur Ashish Kumar, Sambhar SDM Rishi Raj Kapil, and Deputy Director of Tourism Upendra Singh Shekhawat.
After formally inaugurating the Sambhar Festival at 12 noon in the presence of a large number of tourists, Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari visited the craft and food stalls and encouraged the artists and artisans.
On this occasion, she also released commemorative postal cards and visited the kite exhibition and photography exhibition.
Sambhar’s Unique Identity is Its Natural Beauty:
Congratulating everyone on the Sambhar Festival and welcoming tourists from India and abroad, Diya Kumari said that this year the festival is being organised on a much larger scale than last year, and it will be even more grand next year. She said that the Sambhar Festival has now created a distinct identity on the global tourism platform and that Sambhar is emerging as a global tourist destination.
She added that Sambhar’s unique identity lies in its exceptional natural beauty. During winter, various species of birds migrate from Europe and North Asia, especially the Greater Flamingo, which gives Sambhar worldwide recognition.
Development of Facilities and Road Connectivity:
She stated that the government is continuously working on development projects to improve tourist facilities and road connectivity.

The Deputy Chief Minister urged tourists to fully enjoy Sambhar’s natural beauty, local attractions, and folk performances. She encouraged tourists and residents of Jaipur and other regions to actively participate in the festival and experience Sambhar’s scenic charm and tourist spots. She also requested visitors to upload photos and videos on their social media accounts.
Main Attractions of the Sambhar Festival:
Along with various art and craft stalls, a photography exhibition, and a food court, the festival features fancy kite exhibitions and special kite-flying activities. Tourists were seen enjoying horse riding, camel riding, and camel cart rides.
At this grand tourism fair in Jhapok, visitors participated in adventure activities such as parasailing, paramotoring, paragliding, jeep safari, ATV rides, balloon rides, and cycling. Folk artists also presented vibrant cultural performances.
Other Attractions:
Jeep/car adventure rally, salt processing tours, bird watching tours / salt lake visits / train-based salt tours, star-gazing activities, Deepotsav and Maha Aarti at Devyani Tirth Sarovar, and Durga tableaux.
