The redevelopment work of the famous religious site Sitakund Dham, located in the Chakia block of East Champaran district, is currently underway. The project is being implemented by the Bihar State Tourism Development Corporation. The work began on 10 September 2025 and is targeted for completion by 8 December 2026.

Under this project, construction is in progress for the boundary wall, entrance gate, security arrangements, beautification of the pond, roads and seating facilities, a cafeteria, cottages, a toilet complex, and shops within the complex.

Once completed, this project, with an estimated cost of around Rs.15 crore, will transform Sitakund Dham into a modern, safe, and well-organized religious and tourism destination. This will provide better facilities for pilgrims and also promote tourism and employment at the local level.
