In a major boost to international tourism promotion, world-renowned mountaineer, Guinness World Record Holder and Padmashri Awardee Dr. Anshu Jamsenpa has been appointed as the Goodwill Ambassador of the Association of Buddhist Tourism Organizations (ABTO)
The official announcement was made by ABTO General Secretary Kaulesh Kumar, who highlighted that Dr. Anshu Jamsenpa’s global recognition and extensive experience would play a pivotal role in reorienting and accelerating the organization’s global tourism initiatives.

Speaking on the appointment, ABTO General Secretary Kaulesh Kumar expressed immense confidence in her leadership. “Under the guidance of Dr. Anshu Jamsenpa, the organization will more effectively pursue its goal of promoting sustainable and impactful tourism across the world,” Kumar stated. He added that her extraordinary life achievements and deep connection with global networks will help ABTO reshape its strategies in the post-pandemic travel era.
As Goodwill Ambassador, Dr. Anshu Jamsenpa is expected to champion cultural exchange, adventure tourism, and cross-border travel initiatives, positioning ABTO at the forefront of international tourism development.

Dr. Anshu Jamsenpa, an icon from Arunachal Pradesh, India, is best known for her historic mountaineering feats, including being the first woman in the world to scale Mount Everest twice within just five days. Her induction into ABTO is seen by industry experts as a strategic move to leverage adventure sports and resilience branding to inspire global travelers.
