To provide more attractions to the visitors and the tourists the authority of Bengal Safari Park in North Bengal has brought black bucks and hog deer.
Mr. Kamal Sarkar, Director of Bengal Safari Park said that already thirteen numbers of black bucks and four numbers of hog deer have arrived.
“ These wild animals will be monitored and kept in enclosures and have been put on quarantine for adaptation and then will be released,”he added.
Out of these thirteen black bucks eight are females and five are males, while the hog deer are two females and two males each.
Inside the enclosure the animals roam openly. These carnivores have been brought by road from Jamshedpur Tata Zoological Park.
Negotiations are also going on to bring lions and giraffes from Jamshedpur Tata Zoological Park with the state forest department and Bengal Safari Park authority.
The special attractions of the park are – mixed herbivore safari, tiger safari, asiatic black bear safari, leopard safari, aviary trail, lesser cat’s trail, gharial and crocodile pond.
Bengal Safari Park is located on the Sevoke road at a distance of 8km from Siliguri. Bengal Safari Park was inaugurated by the west Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee on 21 January 2016 to boost the tourism of North Bengal.
It has been set up on 700 acres of land.
