Rajasthan Day was celebrated in the joint aegis of Rajasthan Information Center Kolkata, Rajasthan Foundation, Rajasthan Pracharini Sabha and Bharat Jain Mahila Mandal.
On 30 March 1949, Rajasthan got the identity of a separate state and on this day Rajasthan Day is celebrated through various cultural programs. Migrant Rajasthani women of Bharat Jain Mahila Mandal and other organizations participated enthusiastically at the Rajasthan Information Center located in Kolkata.
Even staying away from Rajasthan, migrant Rajasthanis are committed to promote their motherland, mother tongue and culture on the land of Bengal. The participation of Arjun Chakraborty as the chief guest and well-known film actor of Bengal strengthens the relations between Rajasthan and Bengal.
Among the special guests were the dignified presence of Taza TV director Amrita Newar, Bharat Jain Mahila Mandal President, Chanda Golchha and Bhawanipur Education Society College Hindi professor and writer poet Dr. Vasundhara Mishra. The program was presided over by famous Rajasthani linguist and Rajasthani Pracharini Sabha President Ratan Shah.
The program was organized by Mr. Â Hinglaj Dan Ratnoo, Assistant Director, Rajasthan Information Centre, Kolkata. Smt. Anju Sethia, founder member of Bharat Jain Mahila Mandal, welcomed all the guests in Marwari language.
Chief Minister of Rajasthan , Mr. Bhajanlal Sharma joined the digital media and gave his best wishes and expressed his heartfelt happiness on Rajasthan Day being held in Kolkata. Seema Bhavsingh started the program by singing Ganesh Vandana.
Prominent Bengal and film industry actor Arjun Chakraborty shared his childhood experiences during his stay in Shekhawati and then Udaipur Rajasthan and spoke in Marwari which strengthens the relations between Bengal and Rajasthan. He said that we should encourage children to speak in their own language and in terms of language they are first Rajasthani.
While giving the presidential address, Ratan Shah gave information about the valor and rich literature of Rajasthan and also raised the question of constitutional demand for Mayan language. Chanda Golchha, President of Jain Mahila Mandal, gave heartfelt wishes to everyone.
Taaza TV director Amrita Never shared memories of her marriage while describing the specialty of Rajasthani language and said that despite living in Kolkata, everyone celebrates festivals. Writer and poetess Dr. Vasundhara Mishra spoke in Marwari for the first time on Rajasthan Day and showed the prominence of Rajasthan by singing a self-composed song ‘Mhaaro Pyaaro Rajasthan’.
While conducting the program, Assistant Director of Rajasthan Information Centre, Mr. Hinglaj Dan Ratnoo made the program more absorbing  by fluently using couplets and literary quotes of Rajasthani language.
On this occasion, dignitaries from Rajasthan who attended the program were welcomed. The founder member of Jain Mahila Mandal expressed gratitude and said that we all request the Government of India to give constitutional recognition to Mayan language Rajasthan.
While celebrating Rajasthan Day at Rajasthan Information Centre, famous Rajasthani poetess Mridula Kothari, Usha Jain, Manjushree Gupta, Shashi Lahoti, Supyar Pugalya, Chanda Prahladka presented their creations in Rajasthani language. Govind Indoria, Jaiprakash Sethia, Ajayendra Dwivedi, Sabita Pauddar, Shakun Trivedi and reporters from leading newspapers were present on this auspicious occasion.
