EVENT : RENOWNED CHARTERED ACCOUNTANT ARJUN AKRUWALA UPDATES TRAVEL AGENTS ABOUT ASA GST ADVISORY SERVICES, VSF GLOBAL KOLKATA ALSO ABOUT VISA UPDATES IN THE TAFI MEET IN CITY TODAY

KOLKATA, 21 DECEMBER 2023:

Renowned chartered accountant of the country, Mumbai based Arjun Akruwala has provided the latest updates about the ASA GST Advisory services to the top travel agents in the City of Joy at the meet of Travel Agents Federation of India (TAFI), eastern India at Floatel today.

Throwing light on the issue of TCS on Foreign Temmitances for LRS Foreign Travel and Overseas Tour Packages , Mr. Arjun Akruwala not only provided the latest updates of the ministry of finance, but also advsied them that knowledge is bliss otherwise they would face problems later.

He added that so far he has updated over 250 plus travel agents of the country about GST and TCS on international travel about the latest guidelines announced by ministry of finance in October 2023.

“ After filing the Income Tax returns, the Tax Collected at Source (TCS) for foreign tours can be refunded after the end of the year,”he added.

Many more changes are expected to take place in the days to come and the travel agents need to know all the updates otherwise it will be a problem for both the tourists and the travel agents. He adviced them to sell travel packages to toursists travelling abroad including airlines, accomodations and sight seeing while answering to a queastion during the question and answer session.

A team of VFS. GLOBAL Kolkata led by DGM, Shakila Josh, Deputy General Manager ( Operations) were also present and provided valuable updates to the travel agent fraternity of Kolkata present in the TAFI meet.

TAFI members have proiposed to organise a worskhup to VFS Global before the pre season providing updates and latest procedures.

Mr. Anil Punjabi, national executive committee member of Travel Agents Federation of India speaking of the occasion said that the TAFI Meet 2023 aims to provide valuable insights into the evolving landscape of the travel industry. It offers a unique opportunity to connect with influential figures within the travel and tourism sector. Gain insights into emerging trends, customer preferences, and market dynamics through discussions and presentations.

The event was concluded by the cake mixing ceremony followed by by dinner. Officials of the several airlines and medai were present.

Bilolaksha Das, Chairman of TAFI (East), Abhijeet Dhar, Secretary of TAFI (east), Anita Gupta, Treasurer of TAFI (East), Saptarshi Bhattacharya, senior travel agent, Sandeep Deb Lashkar of Interglobe, Satyajit Bhattacharjee, Sales ( Eastern Region) of Air India, Samir Bhaumik, Sales Manager of BIRD TRAVELS, Sajid Ahmed Khan of Thai Airways etc were also present.
