Thai Airways holds a networking and lunch session with the top travel agents of the City of Joy in which top officials of the airlines was also present. Mr. Pipayan Atipatya, the acting consul general of Royal Thai Consulate General in Kolkata was the Chief Guest.
Thai Airways, which has been present in the city for the past 63 years started its journey first from Kolkata. The Networking event folowed by lunch was oeganised to apprise about the current updates of Thai Airways and to thanks the travel agents fraternity of Kolkata and eastern India for their continued support.
Mr. Natpawee Rattanakat, Team Lead of Thai Airways in Kolkata and Mr. Sajid Ahmed Khan , eastern india head of Thai Airways were present in the networking session and lunch event at Oberoi Grand Hotel in Kolkata.
Eminent names of the travel fraternity in Eastern India including Mr. Anil Punjabi, national executive committee member of Travel Agents Federation of India (TAFI), Mr. Manav Soni, Chairman ( east) of Travel Agents Association of India (TAAI), Mr. Amin Ashgar, President of Skal International Kolkata etc were also present.
Talking to The Travel and Tourism Times, Mr. Anil Punjabi said that they have requested the management of Thai Airways to start business class configuration flights from Kolkata soon.
“ Increasing the baggage weight allowance from 25 kilograms at present to 30 kilograms per passenger and seat blocking against payment are some of our demands to the authority of the Thai Airways. Such facilities with ne requirement for VISA for entry to Thailand will fetch consistently more passengers from Kolkata,” added Mr. Anil Punjabi.
Mr. Sajid Ahmed Khan said that Thai Airways has resumed services from Kolkata to Bangkok from 15 October 2023 tghus providing connectivity from Eastern India to Thailand and all other Thai international destinations.
“ Thai Airways would like to acknowledge the support of Travel Fraternity and wish Season Greetings to all the stakeholders and it is because of all of them the airline is still going strong after its first flight took off from Kolkata some 63 years ago,’ added Mr. Sajid Ahmed Khan.
