The union tourism Secretary , Government of India, Smt. V. Vidyavathi has chaired a Stakeholders Consultation meeting on 25th March with key travel associations like Iindian Association of Tour Operators (IATO) , Adventure Tour Operators Association of India (ATOAI), Association of Buddhist Tour Operators (ABTO), India Convention Promotion Bureau (ICPB), Event and Entertainment Management Association (EEMA) and International Business College (IBC) on streamlining of e-visa facilities, visa fee waivers and air connectivity with ASEAN countries.
The meeting was held at Hotel Samrat in New Delhi. Joint Secretary of ministry of Tourism, Mr. M.R.Syrem was present.
The meeting was also attended by Joint Secreatry , Ministry of Civil Aviation ( MoCA) and included representatives from MHA, MEA, MOHFW and DGCA. The stakeholders highlighted several e visa related issues faced by inbound tourists, improving air connectivity and promoting Buddhist pilgrimage tourism from the ASEAN countries.
Smt. Mudgdha Sinha, Director General of Tourism, of government of India streered the successful deliberations between the different organisations. Mr. Gyan Bhusan, senior economic advisor was also present in the meeting.
Dr. Kaushal Kumar, Secretary General of Association of Buddhist Tour Operators (ABTO), who has also attended the meeting virtually thanked this latest initiative of the union ministry of tourism to boost tourism in the country.
