EVENT : WE EXIST BECAUSE OF OUR HERITAGE, IF THERE IS NO HERITAGE THEN WE DO NOT EXIST- HINGLAJ DAN RATNOO

(One day seminar and dialogue by Intake and Rotary Club)

On the occasion of World Heritage Day, a seminar and dialogue was organized in the Rotary Club auditorium under the joint aegis of INTACH Bikaner Chapter and Rotary Club Supreme.

Coordinator of the seminar and convener of both the organizations Prithviraj Ratnoo said that the program was held in the presence of social worker and former Governor of Rotary Club Mr. Rajesh Chura, Treasurer Mr. Manmohan Kalyani, Public Relations Officer Mr. Hinglaj Ratnoo from Kolkata and former Rotary Club Pratpal Maheshwari.

Coordinator Mr. Hinglaj Ratnoo  gave information about the concrete work being done by INTACH for the revival of heritage and culture. He also informed the House that today on World Heritage Day, UNESCO has included India’s spiritual book Geeta and Bharat Muni’s Natya Shastra in the World Heritage, which is a matter of giving true recognition to the Indian literary and cultural heritage.

In the same sequence, Dr. Kishanlal Vishnoi of Rajasthan Nachya Vidya Pratishthan, while speaking on Jamboji’s folk literature Jamm Vaani, linked Rajasthani folk culture and heritage with spirituality. He said that the matter of preservation of heritage has been going on since the past. He highlighted this through Guru Vaanis.

Dr. Manju  said that the Mukti Geet of Alwar’s Matsya Ki Meera is relevant even today despite being mythological. She said that the devotional songs of Matsya Meera are our heritage today. Mrs. Sudha Acharya talked about the preservation of mythological folk songs and said that they are getting extinct. We should also pay attention to their preservation.

Senior Fellow of Culture Ministry Dr. Ritesh Vyas, while speaking on the subject of water conservation and management, emphasized on their relevance in the present times. Dr. Vyas drew the attention of the House towards the ancient water management methods of getting rid of water disaster in Bikaner. He said that if water management is not done then the third world war will be for water.

Secretary of Rajasthani Bhasha and Sahitya Academy, Mr. Sharad Kanwalia said that we still have to be educated on the subject of heritage. Before beautifying the city, the city dwellers will have to be made aware of the definition of beauty.

In the same sequence, Mr. Jagdish Dan Ratnoo highlighted the contribution made by Swami Krishnanand Saraswati of Dasudi in the conservation of the environment. Dr. Namami Shankar Acharya expressed concern over the deterioration of Bikaner’s havelis. D. Mohammad Farooq Chauhan also spoke about the intention to make every possible effort to preserve Bikaner’s historical heritage and save its historical evidence and aesthetic sense. Mr. M.L. Jangid expressed deep concern over the erosion of Bikaner’s heritage. Mr. O.P. Sharma said that if there is any legal hindrance in the conservation of heritage, we will strongly oppose it.

In the same sequence, painter Yogendra Purohit said that we should run such a campaign which will awaken the consciousness of preserving heritage among common citizens. Mr. Yogendra Purohit said that an organization of France invites artists from other countries to France and through art camps, they make paintings of historical buildings of France and preserve their form as art. We can do some similar experiments in Bikaner too.

The main speaker of the program, Mr. Hinglaj Dan Ratnoo said that , “I am protecting the cultural heritage of Bikaner in Calcutta. Referring to his foreign tours, he said that foreigners also come to India because they are impressed by the heritage here. He emphasized on developing Bikaner’s havelis, temples, wells and stepwells as tourist centers.”

Rotary Club chief Mr. Rajesh Chura said that we will have to discuss with the administration in the upcoming meeting. Along with this, we also need to work on the ground. If there is any administrative problem, we will solve it at the social level, for which everyone’s support is very important. Mr. Manmohan Kalyani said that mediation is required for the conservation of the Haveli. Despite being a private property, the Haveli is the heritage of Bikaner and the owners of the Haveli will have to be protected.

Rotary Club President Mr. Sarda , while talking about taking some active steps for heritage conservation in the upcoming meeting, stressed on organizing various types of events. In the end, former Provincial Governor of Rotary Club Maheshwari ji expressed his gratitude to everyone. Mr. Subhash Bishnoi, Deendayal Swami, Amarsingh Khangarot, Mahesh Kumar Swami, Girdharidan Bindu, Omprakash Sharma, Ricri, Vyas and Vimal Kumar Mojak participated in the seminar. The seminar was conducted by senior litterateur of Rajasthani language, Mr. Prithviraj Stannu and  Amar Singh Khangarot.
