Late Kamala Devi Smriti Puraskar was presented to Manjukishore Rashmi of Kota for her work “Than Soo Miltainai” in a dignified ceremony at the Rajasthani Sahitya Puraskar Samman Samaroh organized by Nem Prakashan Deh. The award was presented by Dr. Manju Bagmar, Cabinet Minister of Rajasthan Government, Yogeshwar Garg, Chief Whip of Rajasthan Legislative Assembly and Onkar Singh Lakhawat, Chairman of Heritage Conservation Authority, in the premises of Kunjal Mata Temple, Deh, Nagaur.
This award was sponsored by Late Kamala Devi’s son and Assistant Director of Information and Public Relations Department, Government of Rajasthan in Kolkata, Hinglaj Daan Ratnoo and Late Kamala Devi’s grandson Kunal Ratnoo. On this occasion, Late Kamala Devi’s granddaughter-in-law Bhavana Sandu was also present.
It may be noted that Late Kamala Devi’s Kamala Devi was the sister of the revolutionary poet Manuj Devawat and daughter-in-law of Mauritius’s national saint Swami Krishanananda Saraswati and wife of Dingal’s poet Bhanwar Prithviraj Ratanu.
On this occasion, three cabinet ministers of Rajasthan government and about 500 Rajasthani literature lovers were present. Late Kamala Devi’s elder son and senior litterateur Jagdish Ratnoo, Shri Gopal Singh Nandhu, former secretary of Rajasthani language literature and culture academy Prithviraj Ratnoo, former tehsildar Gokul Dan Khindiya, poet Kalyan Singh Shekhawat and late Kamala Devi’s family members were present.
As prizes, eleven thousand rupees in cash, shawl, necklace, memento, souvenir, and clothes were given. Pawan Pahadia, Laxman Dan Charan, Dr. Gajadaan Charan of Nem Prakashan Deh were present as the coordinators of the program.
Award recipient Dr. Manju Kishore Rashmi said that, “ I am very happy that the person in whose memory I received the award was herself the bearer of the rich tradition of Rajasthani literature. I consider it my good fortune to receive the memory award of such a literary personality. This award given for this book is a boon for me in the field of literary writing.”
