As part of his visit to Arunachal Pradesh , the French Consul General in Kolkata, Didier Henri Marie Talpain expressed an interest in developing the state’s sports, education and tourism sectors.
Such collaboration will improve cultural exchange, tourism sector and the educational & sporting infrastructure, feels the Arunachal Pradesh government too.
While in Ziro valley he thanked the people of the valley and the state of Arunachal Pradesh for their warm hospitality and advised the local people to be proud of their tradition.
Mr. Didier Henri Marie Talpain, who toured Ziro Valley during a visit to Arunachal Pradesh said, “France and Arunachal Pradesh could build collaboration in sports management, higher education and sustainable tourism.”
The French consul general has also asked the Lower Subansiri district administration to prepare draft projects in these areas pertaining to Ziro valley.
He has also visited the district museum and the Seeh water conservation and recreational lake, where they took a boat ride around the lake, and later went on a tour of Hong, Mudang Tage, Dutta, and Hija villages.
The Consul General was accompanied by Consular Attache Adrien Yves Hubert Blanchard, Press Attache and Diplomatic Liaise Anjita Roychoudhury.
The French consul general in Kolkata has also met with the governor in Raj Bhawan in Itanagar.
The governor, Lt.Gen (retired) K.T.Parnaik said that “Arunachal Pradesh is bestowed with ecotourism, religious tourism, adventure tourism and cultural tourism potential,” and suggested conducting cultural exchange programmes to strengthen the Indo-French relationship.
Arunachal Pradesh has the second largest forest cover in India and has huge hydropower and tourism potential, the Governor has informed him.
The Governor has informed that the state of Arunachal Pradesh is very rich in its cultural heritage and traditions and has also suggested cultural exchange programmes to strengthen the future of the Indo-French relationship.
