Mr.Ram Krishna Jaiswal, Hon.Consul of the Republic of Maldives in Kolkata of West BengalĀ has urged the union minister of civil aviation, Mr. Jyotiraditya Scindia to start direct flight operations between Kolkata and Male.
Talking to www.thetravelandtourismtimes.com, Mr. Ram Krishna Jaiswal has informed thatĀ promoting Tourism of Republic ofĀ Maldives he isĀ welcoming travellers andĀ tourists from Kolkata , West BengalĀ as well as fromĀ Eastern India too.
āIĀ had Officially written a Request-Letter recentlyĀ to the Civil Aviation Minister, Mr. Jyotiraditya Scindhia for starting Direct-Flight services s between Kolkata of West Bengal andĀ Male ofĀ Maldives andĀ is highly hopeful of Direct Flight connection between the two destinations will startĀ soon as it remains one of his highest priority as the Hon.Consul Republic of Maldives in Kolkata, West Bengal alongwith Promotion of Education & Trade opportunities between both the Nations,ā added Mr. Ram Krishna Jaiswal.
The United Forum of Travel Agents Association of Kolkata comprising Travel Agents Federation of India (TAFI), Travel Agents Association of India (TAAI) and Skal International Kolkata have also welcomed the move by the Hony Consul of The Republic of Maldives and said that Kolkata ā Male direct flight connectivity will further boost the tourism sector in the state and eastern part of India.
India has retained its lead as the top tourism sourceĀ market of Maldives in 2022. Close to two lakh Indian tourists visited Maldives in 2022 till November. India has been the biggest contributer to tourism in Maldives since 2020.
