NOW ENJOY  GANGA AARTI A LA KASHI in BAJE KADAMTALA GHAT  IN  THE CITY OF JOY

KOLKATA, 7 MARCH 2023:

2 March 2023 has been a historic day as with the hands of chief minister Mamata Banerjee, a Ganga Aarti started at Babughat, on the banks of river Ganga in  Kolkata.

Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has also inaugurated an idol of Goddess Ganga at the Baje Kadamtala ghat.

During her  recent visit to Varanasi , the West Bengal chief minister aws very much impressed with the evening sandhya aarti at the Dasaswamedh ghat in Varanasi.

Several thousands of devotees  from all over the world gather at the banks of River Ganga to see this delightful sandhya arati in Dasaswamedh ghat in Kashi, which is famous for the temple of Lord Viswanath.

After the inauguration by chief minister Mamata Banerjee a group of people started the spectacular sandhya aarti on the banks of River Ganga in Kolkata.

During the summer the sandhya aarti will be held at 6 PM and in winter the sandhya aarti will be held at 7 PM.

A team of officials of Kolkata Municipal Corporation  were earlier sent to  Varanasi to observe, replicate  and prepare the DPR for  Sandhya aarti project in Kolkata.

Recently, the Durga Puja of Bengal has bagged the Unesco’s  Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity  tag in 2021 and the city has witnessed a grand Durga Puja carnival last year in which over 20,000 foreigners have arrived from all over the world.

And this new feature will add another cap on the city’s spiritual tourism sector and will definitely give a big boost to the state’s tourism sector in the days to come.

Ganga aarti is very famous in India at Varanasi and Haridwar and now also the name of   Kolkata too figures in that list.

Dashashwamedh Ghat is a main ghat in Varanasi on the Ganga River in Uttar Pradesh. It is located close to Vishwanath Temple. Two Hindu legends are associated with it: according to one, Brahma created it to welcome Shiva, and in another, Brahma sacrificed ten horses during Dasa-Ashwamedha yajna performed there.
