RAILWAY : KUMARDUBI STATION TO GET REVAMPED UNDER AMRIT BHARAT STATION SCHEME AT A COST OF RS.17 CRORES

Kumardubi station at Kumardubi on the Asansol-Pradhan Khunta section, is a part of the Grand Chord, Howrah-Gaya-Delhi line and line. Nestled in the heart of Chirkunda, Kumardubi is a gem that represents the perfect amalgamation of history, culture, and scenic beauty. Kumardubi station significance transcends its utilitarian purpose, it’s a place where travellers from all walks of life converge to embark on journeys of exploration and adventure. While Kumardubi is a destination in itself, its strategic location makes it an ideal starting point for further adventures to nearby attraction of natural beauty, this station opens doors to myriad experiences.

Kumardubi is known for the manufacturing of ‘Fire Bricks’, as fire clay is found here in large quantity. There are a number of small manufacturing units, which are indulged in making ‘stone chips crusher’. Over Eastern Railway network, foundation stone for station redevelopment was laid by the Hon’ble Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi for a total of 28 Railway Stations of which, 21 Stations are in West Bengal, 5 Stations are in Bihar & 2 Stations are in Jharkhand. Kumardubi station stands prominent in them for redevelopment under Amrit Bharat Stations Scheme.

As the scheme unfolds, after redevelopment of Kumardubi Station under Amrit Bharat Station Scheme will reflect the harmonious blending of infrastructure and connectivity with the aspirations of locals of and adjoining areas.

Facilities planned under Amrit Bharat Station Scheme at a cost of Rs. 17 Crores for Kumardubi station are as below:-

• Construction of new station building on south side.
• Improvement of traffic circulation and beautification of circulating area.
• Improvement of facade including its lighting.
• Improvement of interiors, waiting halls, ticket counters etc.
• Provision of good quality durable furniture.
• Future provision of 02 nos. of lifts and 02 nos. Escalators.
• Provision of standard signages for better accessibility.

With this significant step towards progress and better infrastructure, passengers, passenger associations, localities are very optimistic that this brilliant move of Central Government will create comfortable and convenient spaces for travellers, making their journeys more enjoyable and hassle-free.
