Akasa Air, India’s fastest-growing airline, commenced operations from Gorakhpur, providing daily direct connectivity to and from Delhi and Bengaluru. The inaugural flight on 29th May 2024 departed from Mahayogi Gorakhnath Airport at 14:45hrs, arriving at Indira Gandhi International Airport at 16:00hrs. The new route strengthens Akasa Air’s presence in Uttar Pradesh, catering to the growing demand for air travel in the region. Akasa Air is also the only airline that offers daily flights between Gorakhpur and Bengaluru, and the launch underscores the airline’s commitment of seamlessly connecting metro and non-metro cities across the country.
Gorakhpur, a city steeped in history and culture, is rapidly transforming into an economic hub. With its strategic location and improving infrastructure the city is emerging as an attractive destination for a variety of tourists. Daily direct connectivity with two key metro cities – Delhi and Bengaluru will provide enhanced and affordable options for air travel on these routes and will support economic development in the region.
