Narasimha, (Sanskrit: “Man-Lion”) one of the 10 avatars (incarnations) of the Hindu god Vishnu. The demon Hiranyakashipu—twin brother of Hiranyaksha, the demon overthrown by Vishnu in his previous incarnation as Varaha—obtained a boon from the god Brahma that he could not be killed by human or animal, from inside or outside, by day or by night, and that no weapon could harm him. Thus, feeling secure, he began to trouble heaven and earth. His son, Prahlada, on the other hand, was a devotee of Vishnu, even though his father threatened his life because of it. One day the demon challenged Prahlada and, kicking a stone pillar, asked: “If your god is omnipresent, is he in this pillar also?” Vishnu emerged from the pillar in the form of a man-lion and slew the demon at dusk on the threshold.
The moral of the story is fascinating. Vishnu reinvented himself to deal with a difficult situation.
All of us face difficult situations and we have to reinvent ourselves.
The world is going digital at breakneck speed. We have to cope with it.We have to reinvent ourselves.Soft skills are as important as hard skills.We have to reskill ourselves 24×7.
The wave of new technology like AI, Chat- Gpt,Cloud computing ,blockchain is completely changing our schema of work and operational systems.
But this mind blowing technology should not erode our quality- empathy,our ability to collaborate,cooperate,our passion to foster the well being of our society.
We all strive for success. Dear management students- what you become depends on what choice you made.
Success is a function of choice.Focus on 6 C’s and they are:
1 CLARITY
2 CONNECT
3 CONVICTION
4 CURIOSITY
5 CHANGE
6 CHOICE
You must acquire these skills on a continuous basis- learning should be a lifelong journey.
Abandon linear thinking.Adopt design thinking Constantly reinvent yourselves. Be a poet and not a butcher.
