EVENT : FOLK ARTISTS OF RAJASTHAN ARE THE CULTURAL AMBASSADORS IN THE TRUE SENSE : HINGLAJ DAN RATNOO

KOLKATA, 17 AUGUST 2023:

An internationally reputed Gunsar Folk Music Artist, Mr. Bax Khan Gunsar has been felicitated along with his entire troupe at the Rajasthan Information Centre in Kolkata today.

After felicitating Mr. Bax Khan Gunsar with mementos, Mr. Hinglaj Dan Ratnoo, assistant director of information  and public relations at Rajasthan Information Centre in Ganesh Chandra Avenue in Kolkata said that the folk artists of Rajasthan are the cultural ambassadors in the true sense.

“ I feel proud to welcome Mr. Bax Khan Gunsar and his entire troupe from Jaisalmer  at Kolkata today. The state government and our inspirational chief minister, Mr. Ashok Gehlot  has always been committed to the welfare of the artists of Rajasthan,”said Mr. Hinglaj Dan Ratnoo.

“ We have seen mini Rajasthan  here after visiting the Rajasthan Information Centre office in Kolkata and its staffs led by Mr. Hinglaj Dan Ratnoo. We have always a special love and affection for Kolkata. This office has been playing a key role in popularising the art and culture of Rjasthan and also in  connecting both the states in several sectors ,”said Mr. Bax Khan Gunsar.

Mr. Sattar Khan Langa of the Indian Idol fame along with Mr. Bux Khan Manganiyar Gunsar and other artists team came here and expressed their happiness with the work of this center.

Mr. Bax Khan Gunsar comes from a traditional family of folk musicians. He started playing with Kamayacha when he was a kid. Gradually he picked the art of playing different Rajasthani instrument under the guidance of his father Akbar Khan and his elder family member Ustad Ramjan Hammu Khan, these two musicians were the first legend singer as well as Kamayacha player to perform Live at Royal Albert Hall in London. Bax Khan also learned the art of making these traditional instruments from his father.

Mr. Sattar Khan is one of the young talents of langar Music. He leads the voices of more than 100 youth  in his village of Barnawa and Lakhe Ki Dani in Barmer.
