Tourism Malaysia has officially announced the upcoming Citrawarna Speed Festival 2026, a 12-day event running from 23 September to 4 October 2026. Anchoring the nationwide Visit Malaysia 2026–2027 (VM2026–2027) campaign, the festival aims to bridge heritage with adrenaline by pairing multi-ethnic cultural showcases with high-octane motorsport attractions.
The festival will activate three key venues simultaneously: IOI City Mall Putrajaya, Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) Terminal 1, and the Sama-Sama Hotel. Organisers have split the itinerary into two core segments—Colours of Speed and Colours of Art & Culture—to cater to diverse audiences.

Under the Colours of Speed banner, automotive enthusiasts can look forward to curated displays featuring iconic supercars alongside racing memorabilia and autographed collector’s items. The segment’s primary public drawcard is a virtual racing simulator competition hosted at IOI City Mall Putrajaya, where members of the public can test their driving skills in structured qualifying stages to advance to a live final for a chance to win prizes.
Running parallel to the motorsport exhibits, Colours of Art & Culture is designed to spotlight Malaysia’s multi-ethnic traditions through local handicraft exhibitions, live traditional music, and regional dance performances. The artistic crown jewel of the festival will be the highly anticipated Colours of Parade, featuring 1,500 dancers and cultural performers donning vibrant costumes to deliver a synchronized performance celebrating the nation’s diverse heritage.

The upcoming Citrawarna Speed Festival 2026 has secured a powerful lineup of strategic partners to drive its success. Major corporate and government entities backing the event include Yes Travel & Holidays Sdn. Bhd., IOI Properties, the National Department for Culture and Arts (JKKN), Istana Budaya, Kraftangan Malaysia, Sama-Sama Hotel, Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad (MAHB), SNS Network, SDeal Malaysia Sim Racing & Motorsport, and tech giant HP.
Organisers Tourism Malaysia aim to leverage the massive appeal of motorsport to attract diverse global audiences while showcasing the nation’s rich cultural heritage. The initiative aligns with Malaysia’s booming tourism recovery, which saw 21.1 million international arrivals between January and June 2026—a 2.5 per cent increase compared to the 20.6 million visitors recorded during the same period in 2025.
Serving as a key catalyst for the Visit Malaysia 2026–2027 (VM2026–2027) campaign, the festival is projected to stimulate local economies, generate fresh business opportunities, and foster deeper cultural appreciation. Officials note that the event will directly benefit local communities while solidifying Malaysia’s status as a highly competitive global tourism hub.
While the highly anticipated details of the “Colours of Parade” are set to be unveiled soon, organisers confirmed that full competition rules, registration details, schedules, and participation requirements will be released incrementally via the official Citrawarna Speed Festival social media channels.
