In a stellar recognition of its contributions to Goa’s tourism landscape, the Goa Tourism Development Corporation (GTDC) has been honoured with the esteemed Chanakya Award 2024 in the category of Most Impactful Tourism Corporation by the Public Relations Council of India (PRCI).
Mr. Shripad Yesso Naik, the Union Minister of State for Power and Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, presented the award to Mr. Deepak Narvekar, Deputy General Manager, Marketing, GTDC, who accepted it on behalf of GTDC at the PRCI’s 18th Global Communication Conclave held at Moti Mahal in Mangalore.
The ceremony graced by celebrity Ms. Sweezel Maria Furtado, Miss Global India 2024 along with other esteemed dignitaries including Mr. M.B. Jayaram, Founder Chairman Emeritus of PRCI; and Mrs. Geetha Shakar, National President of PRCI, adding to the grandeur of the occasion.
Dr. Ganesh Gaonkar, MLA of Sanvordem and Chairman, GTDC, Government of Goa, expressed his pride and gratitude. He said, “We are incredibly proud to receive the prestigious Chanakya Award 2024. This recognition strengthens our dedication to offering unforgettable holidays to tourists, with comfortable accommodations in prime residencies and a range of exciting new tourism services. From various adventure activities including river rafting, bungee jumping, scuba diving and trekking programs, along with convenient travel options like the hop-on hop-off buses and Goa Miles services, and several other initiatives we are committed to enhancing the visitor experience. We will continue to push the limits of tourism in Goa, ensuring that every effort we make supports the sustainable growth and prosperity of the state.”

The Public Relations Council of India is a premier organization that promotes professional public relations and communication standards across India. During the ceremony, several awards were presented in various categories to various organizations and individuals from both India and abroad in recognition of their contributions.
