KOLKATA, 4 JANUARY 2023:
The long-cherished demand of the local inhabitants of Madhupur is going to be fulfilled on 06.01.2024 with the extension of 18617/18618 Ranchi – New Giridih Express up to Madhupur. This extension of the trains has taken place with the initiatives of Nishikant Dubey, Member of Parliament , Godda who conveyed the demand of the local people regarding requirement of extension of this train up to Madhupur for facilitating socio economic development of the region. Eastern Railway has made arrangement for extension of this train up to Madhupur linking Madhupur district directly with Ranchi, the state capital of Jharkhand.
This extension of 18617 UP /18618 Down will take effect for train journey on and from 06.01.204. 18617 UP Ranchi – Madhupur Express leaving Ranchi at 06:00 hrs. will arrive Madhupur at 13:50 hrs on the same day. In the opposite direction, 18618 Down Madhupur – Ranchi Express leaving Madhupur at 15:00 hrs. will arrive at Ranchi station at 23:15 hrs. on the same day. This train will stop at Tatisilwai, Mesra, Barkakana, Hazaribagh Town, Koderma, Maheshpur, Dhanpur, Jamua, New Giridih stations enroute in both the directions.
REGULATION OF TRAINS FOR TRACK MAINTENANCE WORK:
Due to track maintenance work at Naihati station, 8 hours traffic block has been planned from 23:10 hrs of 06.01.2024 to 07:10 hrs of 07.01.2024. The block is absolutely essential from the safety point of view as well as smooth running of trains.
Consequently, following arrangements in train running have been made as under:

Naihati – Bandel : Up 37557/ Down 37558
Sealdah – Shantipur : Up 31541/ Down 31540
Sealdah – Ranaghat : Up 31631/ Down 31636
Kalyani Simanta – Naihati : Down 31192
*Cancellation on 07.01.2024:*
Naihati – Bandel : Up 37521, 37523 and 37525/ Down 37522, 37524 and 37526
Sealdah – Krishnanagar : Up 31811/ Down 31812
Sealdah – Shantipur : Up 31511/ Down 31514
Sealdah – Ranaghat : Up 31611/ Down 31614
*Diversion on 06.01.2024 :*
Up 13153 Sealdah – Malda Town Gour Express and 13189 Sealdah – Balurghat Express (both journey commencing on 06.01.2024) will be diverted via Dankuni instead of Naihati and will stop at Dankuni.
*Diversion on 07.01.2024 :*
13160 Jogbani – Kolkata Express, 15050 Gorakhpur – Kolkata Express, 13154 Malda Town – Sealdah Gour Express and 13186 Jaynagar – Kolkata Gangasagar Express (all journey commencing on 06.01.2024) will be diverted via Dankuni instead of Naihati on 07.01.2024 and will stop at Dankuni.
13142 New Alipurduar – Sealdah Teesta Torsha Express, 13164 Saharsa – Sealdah Haate Bazare Express, 13190 Balurghat – Sealdah Express and 13146 Radhikapur – Kolkata Express (all journey commencing on 06.01.2024) will be diverted via New Farakka, Rampurhat, Barddhaman & Dankuni instead of Naihati on 07.01.2024 and will stop at Nalhati, Barddhaman and Dankuni.
ADDITIONAL STOPPAGE OF TWO EXPRESS TRAINS AT BARAKAR STATION:
In response to the persistent demand of the local people, Railway has decided to provide additional stoppage of 11447 Jabalpur – Howrah Shaktipunj Express & 18619/18620 Ranchi – Godda – Ranchi Intercity Express at Barakar station of Asansol Division on an experimental basis. The decision aims to cater to the long cherished demand of the local residents raised through Dr. Ajay Poddar, Hon’ble MLA and better connectivity for the region. The industrial area around Barakar will be greatly benefitted having better interstate & intrastate rail transport facility and will get further impetus for economic development of this region.
11447 Jabalpur – Howrah Shaktipunj Express (journey commencing on & from 4.1.2024) will arrive Barakar station at 18:56 hrs. to leave at 18:58 hrs.
18619 Ranchi – Godda Intercity Express (journey commencing on & from 6.1.2024) will arrive Barakar station at 02:50 hrs. & 18620 Godda – Ranchi Intercity Express (journey commencing on 7.1.2024) will arrive Barakar at 22:48 hrs. The train will stop at Barkar station for 2 minutes in both directions
