Deoghar also known as Baidyanath Dham is an important pilgrimage site , It is one of the Twelve Jyotirlinga site of India. In the month of Shravan the influx of devotees to Deoghar intensely increase as lakhs of people from different corner of the country arrive at Deoghar for Jalabhishek of Lord Shiva.
Likewise the previous years, Eastern Railway has also made special arrangement for the convenience of pilgrims during Shravani Mela at Deoghar. A couple of Special Trains will run. Special Cleanliness, help desk, medical booth , special security arrangement etc have been planned at Jasidih/ Baidyanath Dham stationsduring Shravani Mela. Mr. Amar Prakash Dwivedi, General Manager, Eastern Railway has guided the branch officers of Asansol Division to arrange for all possible amenities for the passengers arriving at Jasidih , Baidyanath Dham stations for pilgrimage during Shravani Mela.
The following arrangements have been made during Shravani Mela period from 04.07.2023 to 31.08.2023 to clear the extra rush of pilgrims.
➢ Special train
- Asansol – Patna – Asansol Bi-weekly mela special
03511 Asansol – Patna Shravani Mela special will leave Asansol at 16:50 hrs on every Wednesday & Monday between 03.07.2023 & 30.08.2023 (18 trips) to reach Patna at 23:55 hrs on the same day and 03512 Patna – Asansol Shravani Mela special will leave Patna at 01:15 hrs on every Thursday & Tuesday between 04.07.2023 & 31.08.2023 (18 trips) to reach Asansol at 08:30 hrs on the same day.
The train will stop at Chittaranjan, Madhupur & Jasidih stations over Eastern Railway system. The train will have general second class and second class chair car accommodations.
- Jasidih – Baidyanath Dham – Jasidih MEMU special (04.07.2023 to 31.08.2023)
03501/03503/03505 Jasidih – Baidyanath Dham MEMU special will leave Jasidih daily at 15:45 hrs, 03502/03504/03506 Baidyanath Dham – Jasidih MEMU special will leave Baidyanath Dham daily at 16:15 hrs, 19:15 hrs & 21:30 hrs to reach Jasidih at 16:30 hrs, 19:35 hrs & 21:50 hrs respectively.
- Additional stoppage of trains during Shravani Mela
- Additional stoppage of trains at Jasidih station
Duration of halt of all Mail/ Express Passenger trains except 12305/12306 Rajdhani Express, 12273/12274 Duronto Express, 12023/12024 Jan Shatabdi Express, 12303/12304 Poorva Express,12359/12360 Garib Rath Express, 12235/ 12236 Humsafar Express having stoppage less than 05 mts. at Jasidih may be extended up to 05 mts. at Jasidih during the Mela period.
- Additional stoppage of trains at Sultanganj station
The following trains will provide 02 (two) minutes stoppage at Sultanganj station on nominated days during Mela period as under :
Timings between Kiul and Jamalpur will remain same. It will stop at all stations enroute between Jamalpur & Sultanganj.
Mr. Kausik Mitra, Chief Public Relations Officer of Eastern Railway said that Eastern Railway has arranged a total of 18 pairs of Shravani Mela Special trains between Asansol & Patna, three pairs of MEMU Special trains will run daily between Jasidih & Baidyanath Dham and several mail express trains will provide additional stoppage at Jasidih during the Shravani Mela. Moreover, 10 Mail/Express trains will provide additional stoppage at Sultanganj to facilitate arrival of devotees at Sultanganj to perform their holy journeys from Baba Ajgavinath Temple at Sultanganj to Baidyanath Dham Temple at Deoghar.
