As Bengal celebrates the vibrant spirit of Durga Puja, the Eastern Railway rises to meet the surge in passengers, ensuring safe, comfortable, and medically supported journeys across its network. With long-distance trains like Kalka Express, Jodhpur Express, and Amritsar Mail in high demand, travelers often embark on journeys without necessary medicines, creating unforeseen challenges during emergencies. But Eastern Railway stands ready to help—ensuring no traveler is left unattended in their moment of need.

Doctors and paramedical teams are available 24/7 at different stations, providing first aid and professional medical support. Whether on board or at the station, passengers can seek emergency medical care, advice, and treatment from trained personnel. Equipped with stretchers, wheelchairs, and ambulances, Eastern Railway ensures rapid assistance for passengers in distress, regardless of the time or situation. Railway medical teams provided prompt attention to various emergencies, including cut injuries, fever cases, severe back pain, acute abdominal pain with diarrhea, chest pain, and lacerated injuries. Timely intervention by railway doctors ensured appropriate care and stabilization of patients, showcasing the commitment to providing quality medical services and ensuring passenger safety and well-being.

Only during this Durga Puja 7th to 13th October prompt efforts by Eastern Railway medical team demonstrated when 17 passengers at Barddhaman,31 passengers at Malda, 21 passengers at Asansol station and 18 passengers at Rampurhat received prompt medical attention. In one instance, an elderly traveler at Barddhaman collapsed but was stabilized and able to continue her journey. Similarly, at Rampurhat, a diabetic passenger requiring urgent care was swiftly attended to by the medical team.

The efforts during this Durga Puja reflect the heart and soul of Eastern Railway, where service transcends duty, and the wellbeing of passengers is paramount. With every stretcher carried, every first-aid kit opened, and every call for help answered, the railway showcases the humanitarian spirit that defines its legacy.
