Goa Tourism is actively working on strategic infrastructure projects to enhance the state’s tourism landscape. These initiatives highlight Goa’s rich heritage, spirituality, and inland attractions while promoting sustainable tourism and empowering local communities.
Under the Swadesh Darshan Scheme, the major project in development is the Porvorim Creek Experience, designed to restore the area’s status as a bustling social and cultural hub. Enhancements at Colva Beach will blend comfort with local character, encouraging visitors to connect with nearby businesses and enrich the region’s economic ecosystem. These improvements will not only elevate visitor experiences but also provide steady footfall for homestays, cafes, and small enterprises.
Goa’s spiritual tourism offerings are also set for enhancement. The iconic Basilica of Bom Jesus at Old Goa being developed under the PRASHAD Scheme to ensure a richer experience for both pilgrims and tourists.
Furthering this development, the Ekadasha Teertha circuit connects eleven iconic temples, immersing visitors in Goa’s spiritual heritage while strengthening local economies. As travelers embark on these temple trails, they will engage with local artisans, farmers, and families showcasing traditional crafts, cuisine, and practices.
The introduction of the Gomant Sarita Poojan at the confluence of the Mandovi, Zuari, and Valvanti rivers in Narve will further elevate Goa’s spiritual tourism appeal. With a focus on eco-conscious practices along the riverbanks, this initiative aims to promote environmental responsibility while inviting visitors to embrace local traditions.
Adding a dynamic dimension to this transformation is the upcoming Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Digital Museum at Farmagudi. This state-of-the-art facility will celebrate the legacy of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj through engaging visuals, interactive displays, and immersive attractions such as augmented reality rooms, holograms, and a 5D theatre. Complemented by various amenities this project is designed to create multiple avenues for community-driven enterprises to flourish.

Khaunte. “By developing inland destinations, we are helping businesses grow, creating jobs, and improving livelihoods across the state.”
