In a bid to further boost the spiritual tourism sector in the Heart of India, Madhya Pradesh, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is all set to inaugurate the 108 feet tall statue of Adi Shankaracharya on Mandhata Hill at Omkareswar on 18 th September 2023.
Mr. Yuvraj Padole, Deputy Director – Events, Marketing and Film Tourism of Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board has announced athe recently concluded Tourism Roadshow in Hyderabad that the Tiger State of India with a number of 785 numbers of majestic cats, is also now a home of the world’s fastest land animal, cheetah and the Heart of Incredible India showcases a blend of history , culture and natural beauty.
The cost of the whopping 108 feet tall ‘Statue of Oneness”, of 8th century Indian philosopher, Adi Dhankaracharya is about Rs.2141 crores.
The Buildings and factories Business of Larsen and Toubro ( L&T) has bagged the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) of the project. The statue is made of bronze metal and is placed above a lotus pedal.
Besides the statue, it also includes a musuem on Adi Shankaracharya and International Advaita Vedanta Sansthan.
The place is called Ekatma Dham – A Journey of Oneness. The projects is a dream child of state Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan.
