The long-cherished demand of the local inhabitants of Madhupur was fulfilled on 06.01.2024 with the extension of 18617/d18618 Ranchi – New Giridih Express up to Madhupur. This extension of the trains will ensure meeting the demands of the local people regarding requirement of extension of this train up to Madhupur for facilitating socio economic development of the region.
Asansol Division of Eastern Railway has made arrangement for extension of this train up to Madhupur linking Madhupur district directly with Ranchi, the state capital of Jharkhand.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Nishikant Dubey, Godda MP said that the government under the ledership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi is continuously thriving for bringing all-round development of different states.
Mr. Chetna Nand Singh, Divisional Railway Manager, Asansol and other dignitaries were also present at the flagging off ceremony at Madhupur Station.
This extension of 18617 UP /18618 Down will take effect for train journey on and from 06.01.204. 18617 UP Ranchi – Madhupur Express leaving Ranchi at 06:00 hrs. will arrive Madhupur at 13:50 hrs on the same day. In the opposite direction, 18618 Down Madhupur – Ranchi Express leaving Madhupur at 15:00 hrs. will arrive at Ranchi station at 23:15 hrs. on the same day. This train will stop at Tatisilwai, Mesra, Barkakana, Hazaribagh Town, Koderma, Maheshpur, Dhanpur, Jamua, New Giridih stations enroute in both the directions.
This train will run daily and will also have advanced facilities like AC Chair Car & AC Executive Class (Vistadome Coach).
Before this event, Mr. Chetna Nand Singh, Divisional Railway Manager of Asansol reviewed the progress of work under Amrit Station Scheme of Madhupur station, Coaching Depot and gave necessary instructions to the concerned official for expeditious completion of work.
