Siuri Railway station is one of the major Railway stations on the Andal–Sainthia branch line under Asansol Division. It serves Suri, the district Headquarters of Birbhum district of West Bengal. The station holds significant importance for the Pilgrims and travellers visiting the Bakreshwar Temple and hot springs in the village of Bakreshwar. Keeping in view the importance of this station, Railways have initiated planned for a comprehensive rejuvenation project for Siuri station under Amrit Bharat Station Scheme.
Eastern Railway is pleased to announce the rapid progress of Redevelopment Project currently underway at Siuri station as a part of the prestigious Amrit Bharat Scheme with a total investment of Rs. 3.5 crore. The redevelopment project will see Siuri station undergo a modern architectural overhaul that perfectly blends contemporary design with its geographical significance.
Salient features in the first phase of the redevelopment include:
- Improvement to traffic circulation and beautification of circulating area
- Improvement to existing facade, elevation including its lighting.
- Improvement to interiors, waiting halls, ticket counters etc.
- Improvement to toilets.
- Provision of lift.
- Good quality durable furniture.
- Standard signages for better accessibility.
