Keeping passenger convenience in mind, in January this year Eastern Railway has increased the route of some trains and arranged additional coaches in addition to running new trains. Besides, additional stops have been announced for several trains so that rail connectivity become more convenient at various stations.
New Train:
Ministry of Railways has arranged two new trains to increase rail connectivity e.g. 13189/13190 Sealdah – Balurghat – Sealdah Express and 13333/13334 Patna – Dumka – Patna Express.
Extension of Train Route:
18617/18618 Ranchi – New Giridih Express extended upto Madhupur, 13413/13414 & 13483/13484 Malda Town – Delhi Farakka Express extended upto Bhatinda Junction.
Additional Coach:
A total of 415 additional coaches have been added to various mail /express trains, thereby facilitating availability of reserved accommodation.
Additional Stoppages:
Additional stops have been announced at various stations in 11 express trains. As a result, many more trains are now standing at Mirza Chowki, Barakar, Dubrajpur, Pakur stations.
LHB Conversion:
The rake of 13145/13146 Kolkata – Radhikapur Express has been completely changed from ICF to LHB rake. As a result passenger comfort and safety in this train has been increased to a great extent.
